Jean's passion for farmers markets and bookstores began in her childhood, when her Mexican grandmother would take her to local mercados in Southern California and her father would spend Sundays reading with her at neighborhood bookshops. After her son was born, she left her corporate marketing position to work freelance, allowing her family to travel during off-peak seasons. What started as a personal blog documenting their market-to-table cooking experiments while traveling evolved into a platform celebrating the intersection of family travel, local food systems, and literary culture.
