Erik left his corporate instructional design career in London 12 years ago to accept a contract position in Kyoto that was supposed to last only one year. After falling in love with Japanese culture and meeting his now-wife (a half-Japanese, half-British educational consultant), he established roots in Kyoto while maintaining his British identity.
